The difference between UV DTF printer and DTF printer

UV DTF printers and DTF printers are two different printing technologies. They differ in the printing process, ink type, final method and application fields.

1.Printing process

UV DTF Printer: First print the pattern/logo/sticker on the special A film, then use a laminator and adhesive to laminate the pattern to the B film. When transferring, press the transfer film on the target item, press it with your fingers and then tear off the B film to complete the transfer.

DTF Printer:The pattern is usually printed on PET film, and then the design needs to be transferred to fabric or other substrates using hot melt adhesive powder and a heat press.

2.Ink type

UV DTF Printer: Using UV ink, this ink is cured under ultraviolet irradiation and has no volatile and dusting problems, improving the quality of the finished product and saving drying time.

DTF Printer: Use water-based pigment ink, bright colors, high color fastness, anti-aging, saving costs.

3.Transfer method

UV DTF Printer: The transfer process does not require heat pressing, just press it with your fingers and then peel off the B film to complete the transfer.

DTF Printer: Requires stamping with a heat press to transfer the design to the fabric.

4.Application areas

UV DTF Printer: Suitable for surface printing on leather, wood, acrylic, plastic, metal and other hard materials, commonly used in the labeling and packaging industry.

DTF Printer: Better at printing on textiles and leather, suitable for the apparel industry, such as T-shirts, hoodies, shorts, trousers, canvas bags, flags, banners, etc.

5.Other differences

UV DTF Printer: Usually there is no need to configure drying equipment and drying space, reducing the demand for production space, low energy consumption, and saving electricity.

DTF Printer: Additional equipment may be required such as powder shakers and heat presses, and the requirements for printers are higher, requiring professional high-quality printers.
